Meet The Team

Brevitts Solicitors, established over fifty years ago by Jim Brevitt, it is a local practice based on Oak Tree Lane in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham. Brevitts aim to provide a practice where clients feel welcome and at ease, Brevitts specialises in helping clients to arrange their affairs to secure peace of mind.

Brevitts predominantly provides Private Client services including;

  • Legal estate planning and bespoke Wills
  • Court of Protection, including Powers of Attorneys
  • Probate, Administration of Estates and
  • Trusts

The team of Brevitts have over 35 years of experience in providing solutions for all, including those starting their families and careers, those in later life, or those more vulnerable in our community. Their aim is to give clients and their families absolute peace of mind, at an affordable cost.

Jane Sutton runs Brevitts Solicitors, she is an accredited Solicitor for the Elderly (SFE) and provides day to day support to those in later life on behalf of their relatives who no longer live locally, or for some clients who have no family at all. She provides a suite of later life care solutions for clients and their families, to put in place arrangements to assist and support them should they need it. Often this will include managing and coordinating carers to ensure high levels of care or assisting in sourcing placements in care homes.

Jane Brevitt - Principal Solicitor

Jane Brevitt is a Senior Partner at Brevitts. She joined in 1985, initially as a Trainee Legal Executive, qualifying in 1990 and becoming a Licensed Conveyancer shortly afterwards. She went on to become a Solicitor in 1999 after graduating from the College of Law, and qualified as a Solicitor For the Elderly (SFE) in 2006. She specialises in Private Client, in particular Complex Wills and Probate, as well as Conveyancing.

Laurence Sutton– Senior Partner

Laurence is a Qualified Chartered Legal Executive and experienced Senior Business Manager with a successful demonstrated history of working in legal and public service environments. He oversees Practice management, Compliance and Business Development.

Jessica Harper - Associate Solicitor

Jessica Harper is an Associate Solicitor, she started at Brevitts Solicitors in January 2017, having previously been a Town Planner. She converted her original degree and masters via Graduate Diploma in Law and qualified as a Solicitor in February 2021. She has experience in all areas of private client, including Wills, Probate and Conveyancing.

Nieve Newman - Junior Paralegal

Nieve joined Brevitts in 2018, whilst undertaking her Business Administration Apprenticeship. Having successfully completed her Apprenticeship in 2021, Nieve’s worked as a Legal Assistance within Wills Conveyancing and Probate and estate administration. Having built up a wealth of knowledge Nieve deals with the day to day administration of our Probate and Estate administration, Wills and Conveyancing, providing vital support to our Solicitors.

Georgina Rivera - Trainee Paralegal, Business Administration Assistant

Georgina joined Brevitts in 2020, she provides support to the senior management team in all areas of business management. Georgina also deals with the day to day administration of the Lasting Powers of Attorney and Wills providing support to our Solicitors.

Ajay Errol Jackson - Apprentice

Ajay jointed Brevitts in 2023 as a Business Administration Apprentice, which he is looking to finish in the early part of 2024. He supports all staff with administration and works closing with the Laurence on Practice management, Compliance and Business Development.
